#ResistanceRecess: NARAL Members Across the Country Urge Senate Democrats & Republicans to #StopGorsuch
When members of Congress traveled home this week, they were greeted by their constituents, including NARAL member-activists, fired up and ready to talk about what the heck is going on in Washington, D.C. under Donald Trump and the anti-choice GOP Congress.
At the top of their minds was the Supreme Court nomination and the devastating impact Neil Gorsuch — a man with a clear anti-choice record — could have on the highest court in the nation. Our members did what they do best: mobilized and organized. This time, they called on their senators to uphold the views of a majority of Americans and vote “no” on Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
In Nevada, NARAL members rallied to demand a “no” vote on Gorsuch from Senator Dean Heller.
In Wisconsin, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington members delivered postcards to Rep. Paul Ryan’s office, asking him to listen to the concerns of his constituents.
In Missouri, NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri members met with Sen. Claire McCaskill’s staff to urge her to stand strong against the GOP and #StopGorsuch.
In Washington, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington members met with Sen. Patty Murray’s staff to thank her for her commitment to do whatever she can to protect the Affordable Care Act and stop Neil Gorsuch from being confirmed as our next Supreme Court Justice.
In Florida, NARAL Pro-Choice America members organized an activist town hall to protest Marco Rubio refusing to hold one, and hundreds of Florida residents joined them.
In Montana and Delaware, NARAL members met with their Sens. Jon Tester and Chris Coons, to ask them to trust women to make their own reproductive health decisions and stop Neil Gorsuch from becoming our next Supreme Court Justice!
