A Festivus for the Rest of Us!

We’re pretty sure it won’t come as a surprise to anyone that we’ve got a lot of grievances to air this year. So, without further ado, welcome to the reproductive freedom edition of Festivus 2020. You’re in for a wild ride.

First up, the anti-choice “activists” in whose heads we apparently are living rent-free. We’re fighting for reproductive freedom. You’re fighting for reproductive control. We are not the same.

Next on our list is the president. You’ve been a threat to our reproductive freedom since day one. And in 29 days (but who’s counting?), we’re going to be saying goodbye and good riddance. Hopefully forever.

And let’s not forget the vice president, who pretends to care about life all the while aiding and abetting an administration that’s presided over the deaths of more than 300,000 Americans.

To the anti-choice Members of Congress who are hell-bent on taking away our reproductive freedom and have to rely on disinformation because they don’t have any actual facts to back up their ridiculous claims — we see you, we hear you, and we’ll never stop calling (and voting) you out.

But that’s not all! Anti-choice legislators and politicians spent the first part of this pandemic scheming to restrict access to essential abortion care. That’s right — instead of planning how to keep people in their states safe, they were plotting to take their healthcare away.

Of course, the Supreme Court is high on our list. Ruling to take away people’s access to no-cost birth control during a pandemic isn’t just cruel, it’s dangerous. Birth control is essential reproductive healthcare, and it should never be your boss’ business.

And finally, Amy Coney Barrett and the senators who voted to confirm her. The rushed confirmation process will forever make her an illegitimate Supreme Court justice. Every single senator who prioritized this over saving lives during a pandemic should be held accountable.

That’s a wrap on all the grievances we have to air this year. Thanks for following along, it sure feels good to get that off our chests. We’re doing everything we can to make 2021 better than 2020. And with your help, we can make sure that nothing’s as bad as this year was.

And if you want to make next year’s list a little shorter, we’ve got an idea. If you join us in the fight for reproductive freedom, next year’s list might just be a bit more concise.
